Oven Preheat Door Locked

If there are screws near the top or front that attach the oven top to the base unscrew them and pull the oven top up.

Should the oven lock during a bake cycle press the clear off pad and allow the range to cool to room temperature. If no food or utensils are in the oven start a self clean cycle then hit clear off after 60 seconds. If that does not unlock the door run a short self clean cycle 1 2 hours. If it s still locked start an oven cleaning cycle.

Once inside the oven switch the lock from the inside of the oven. Once cool reset it again to your desired baking temperature. Allow the oven to cool approximately 30 90 minutes move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door. If this does not resolve the issue service may be needed.

The door will also lock during the self cleaning cycle and won t unlatch until the temperature inside the oven cools to about 200 degrees fahrenheit. If you still cannot unlock the door then you can check the oven temperature sensor from the back.
